Diablo 3 Ultimate Strategy Guide

This is the ultimate Diablo 3 Strategy Guide you can use in this game. Like me, I know most of you are long time Diablo fans and as Diablo 3 fanatics, I will be sharing all the strategy, tips and tricks that will be useful as you start your very first quest in Diablo 3.

Diablo 3 Guide – Class Guides

This Diablo 3 fansite will serve as a venue for all players who are searching for different class guides.Below, I will enumerate links to our available guides on each class, which encompass all the things such as the best builds and runes for each ability to the right equipment for your favorite character. All D3 guides are enumerated below, just click which class you would like to explore

Diablo 3 Barbarian Guide

Diablo 3 Demon Hunter Guide

Diablo 3 Monk Guide

Diablo 3 Witch Doctor Guide

Diablo 3 Wizard Guide

I am now through creating guides for each class in the game, so feel free to spend some time to compare the classes. Since the beta only ran to level 13, I have not been able to test out all the advanced skills and runes for each class. Once the game comes out, each class’s ability list will be finished off to include the abilities and runes we do not have access to in the beta.

Diablo 3 Strategy Guide – Class Balance

I know that a lot of people when they first start out a game want to pick a good class. After all, you do not want to go all the way to level 60 and then start working on your gear only to see another class with worse gear is able to clear enemies three times faster than you.

Right now, I can tell you not to worry about picking which class is good or bad. All classes are pretty good in Diablo 3. It is not like Diablo 2 at all where some classes were far superior to one another. In Diablo 3, the standardization of weapon damage and stats has made it much easier to keep each class relatively equal when it comes to relative strengths and weaknesses.

Additionally, at least within the first 6 months of release before players get really geared out, the difficulty of the game is very high. No matter what class you play, you cannot recklessly charge into packs and blow them up with AoE attacks without even thinking like you could in Diablo 2.

If you run into a pack of tough enemies in Inferno mode of Diablo 3 with that sort of attitude, you will find yourself dead pretty quickly. This means that you do not have to worry too much about class balance as they all are pretty good when monster difficulty becomes that high.

I will update this D3 guide if that ever changes and one class seems particularly strong. Then again, if you are like me, you will have every class leveled up to the max and will be able to pick whichever one you feel like playing that day, regardless of strength!

Diablo 3 Guide – Game Overview

Diablo 3 is set to release May 15th, 2012 and is the long-anticipated sequel of Diablo 2, the latter selling 4 million copies and being one of the most popular PC games of all time.

Given that Diablo 2 came out long before the boom in MMORPG-style games (thanks to World of Warcraft), the growing strength of Blizzard’s brand, and the fact that the age-range of gamers has expanded greatly over the past 15 years, I think Diablo 3 will go on to be much more popular than its predecessor.

After all, Diablo 2 came out in 2000, nearly 13 years ago. I would venture that the player base for video games rated Mature (Diablo 3 is rated Mature 17+ in the USA) has doubled or even tripled since then.

Diablo 3 will have a large and eager audience, as no high quality online game that is truly like Diablo 2 or 3 has been released since then. If you have not played any of the Diablo games before, in the next part of this Diablo 3 guide I will reveal what gameplay is like and what you can expect from the game.

Diablo 3 is basically an multiplayer action RPG. Players have a variety of quests and sidequests with rewards like an MMORPG, but at the same time these quests are linear like an action game (i.e. kill a boss).

In order to play the game, you create or join a game in existence. Each time a game is created, the entire game world is randomly generated. The world exists like a set of puzzle pieces which are randomly stitched together to create a brand new game world every time you play. No two worlds are example the same.

When you enter a game, enemies killed and quests done in that particular game are permanent, much like a typical action game. When you leave the game world and start a new game, an entirely new game world is created and all the enemies come back to life (depending on what quest you started with) so that you can take them out again. Many players come to our D3 guide to find the most efficient ways to clear these games and get items.

You can join or create these games with up to 4 players. Four players then can play co-op through the game world to take out the bosses, complete the quests, and get equipment. Game worlds are not nearly as big an an MMORPG’s game worlds as you can clear an entire game-world in a day’s worth of playing.

While the worlds are smaller, the servers are much bigger. Unlike an MMORPG where only a few thousand players can be on a single server, in Diablo 3 there are hundreds of thousands of players on the same server – everyone in the region – and you can create games with any of them, much like you would with Starcraft 2.

Diablo 3 Guide to Gameplay

Now that you know how the game system and servers work, the next part of this Diablo 3 guide will go over how gameplay works in Diablo 3 compared to MMORPGs.

You have similar mechanics to MMORPGs in Diablo 3 – levels, experience points, stat points, gear upgrades, new abilities with each level, and so on. As you level up and get new equipment, your character gets significantly stronger and can take on tougher enemies.

However, unlike an MMORPG, you can only equip 6 abilities at a time. Additionally, there is no global cooldown on abilities; some abilities can be used instantly back to back whereas the cooldown on others is based on your weapon speed. This is what makes it like an action game: you have a set of 6 abilities which you can use very quickly in order to take down enemies or even other players in PvP.

The trademark behind the Diablo series though is the wide variety of items and loot you get in the game. Most items have random attributes, which means that out of a pool which includes a variety of things like +strength, +critical hit rate, +weapon damage, and +attack speed, you will get a random set of attributes.

There are hundreds of attributes available, so the odds of getting the “perfect” item are very low, which makes finding rare items like a slot machine – you just might hit the jackpot and get a really valuable piece of equipment! This random nature behind the loot systems in Diablo 3 so popular and so addictive.

Diablo 3 Strategy Guide

Fortunately, our Diablo 3 guide contains solid tips and tricks to getting this loot as well as how you can build out your classes. Diablo 3 comes out May 15th and our D3 guide is growing larger with each passing day. Good luck out there!
